WPKN Community Radio

What’s good world 🌍, it’s your girls Sheneta Nicole and Ange, setting the tone from SNM.radio on WPKN - Bridgeport 89.5 FM. Here are some key reasons about why we support WPKN (and why I encourage you as well).

In my realized the different avenues and uses for my voice: as a singer, performer, mentor, older sibling, and citizen. The mission of WPKN is "Real People. Real Radio.

One thing that radio, in general, has helped me realize is that I genuinely enjoy communication as both an art form and skill. I've noticed, personally, that communication helps to overcome fear, reduce judgement--both, very important for decision making in strategic planning. The PKN pioneers has shown me the importance of collective planning and advocating for a cause. This station started off as a college radio; and it is because, a group of students saw that this organization deserved a space in the Bridgeport community that it is what it is today.

SNM.radio airs every first and third Wednesday of the month. In our logo reads the statement "sustainability and ownership for independent artists."  Our mission on SNM.radio is to provide advice, guidance, and a platform to creatives who leverage their hobbies/skillsets in their careers. In the three years that we have been on air we managed to meet some very cool creatives along the way who align with our mission and are ready to take their unique brands to the next level.

When tuning in to our show you'll catch AngeThaMoonMix playing vibes that range from current to classic R&B and Soul; or sometimes you may find her reviewing new releases from authors. DJ Big Kev brings the mainstream feel to the curation, providing the listeners with a club feel. Every once Malik the Reporter comes by with what's hot topics from the local Bridgeport community. While Sheneta Nicole provides an #HourToThePeople-- 60 minutes of music submitted from listeners and artists who are independent.
