St. Mary-St. Michael School

Our Story

Founded in 1898, St. Mary-St. Michael School in Derby has provided students throughout the Valley with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their pursuits and to positively shape their community.

Equipped with a comprehensive education that focuses on academic and spiritual achievement, our graduates have become leaders in government, education, healthcare, sports, the justice system and the Church. St. Mary-St. Michael is currently honored to have graduates serving as its principal.

Our school’s renown for creating community leaders is based on its commitment to imparting students from Pre-K to Grade 8 with a larger appreciation of the world that is grounded in respect, reverence, and responsibility while encouraging them to pursue the infinite possibilities of art, science, and faith.

Each and every day for generations now, our children pass through our doors, enter our classrooms and learn about life, about the world around them, about the mysteries of math and science, and about the beauty of art and music.
