Our Story
The Nu Haven Kapelye is a multi-generational community klezmer ensemble. We are dedicated to preserving and reinvigorating this Eastern European musical tradition. An essential part of our mission is to pass on the klezmer tradition to the next generation. In support of that goal, this year we launched Klezmer for Kinderlekh, a multipart workshop for young musicians.
Klezmer for Kinderlekh invites student instrumentalists of all skill levels to learn the art of klezmer music from members of the Nu Haven Kapelye. Together, we are building skills, making new friends, and growing appreciation of our Eastern European Jewish cultural heritage.
We thrive on giving klezmer new life and on bringing joy to our audiences. We remain committed to educating both youth and adults by offering more workshops and klezmer dance opportunities. Your generosity will go a long way toward helping us continue to revitalize the klezmer music tradition.
